As some of you can tell, the server isn't quite what it used to be anymore. It's still a server with a map that has wonderful builds scattered around and a very close community. However, the playerbase has been rapidly declining. This isn't just the case for trekcraft, but for the entirety of minecraft survival.
The fact that people find new games that they find more enjoyable is unavoidable. But I believe that there is a way to keep trekcraft a more active hive of busy minecrafters! I myself would love to get back into the game but there are a few things keeping me (and I believe others aswell) away from doing so. The current map has been around for quite some time and with the history of players that have roamed these biomes it feels kind of dead and outplayed.
And for new players awell! When Trek started to expand, it needed constant updates to keep the server entertaining. As a result the server became more complicated. Especially due to slimefun, which I thought was very exciting because there were many new things to learn, but I noticed that it scared some players away because of the complexity. When someone joins the server, it feels quite quite intimidating. Other things that can be seen as intimidating are the mcmmo scores of the top players, aswell as the amount of money the top players possess. It feels like theres no way to catch up to the 'top players'.
An obvious solution would be to reset the map. By doing so we could make the size of the world significantly smaller. The advantage would be that people are building closer together which would give a feeling of connection. A small playerbase needs a small map. The details of the reset are debatable. But I feel like going back to a more simple version of towny minecraft would have a very positive effect.
