Rules summary for those that don’t need the details (but don’t complain you “didn’t know”):
Keep it rated G.
Don't be a jerk.
Don't raid anything in a town or nation zone.
Listen to staff.
TrekCraft Towny is a Towny/survival server. You are expected to make it on your own.
Spamming chat with “I neez diamond tools” and the like is not good.
Death is a part of surviving, items are not re-spawned if you die. You have three (or more!) /sethomes to use. Type /sethome <name> to set and /home <name> to return. We suggest you use one as you explore (/sethome back) every so often. That way if the worst happens and you do die you can get back to somewhere close by using it. When you die, your items are placed in an unlocked death chest for 2 hours to give you time to recover them... or let someone else find them and keep them.
Also PvP is on in the wild, any area outside spawn. Some towns may also have PvP enabled. So do be aware of who you accept teleport requests from. Also just because PvP is on that does not make us a PvP server. Mindlessly killing players just because you can is not ok. Repeatedly stalking the same player(s) so they cannot play or build will be considered harassment and punished accordingly.
Do read the rules found below, and in game at spawn (/warp rules). Not knowing them is not an excuse for breaking them. Punishments range from kicks, mutes, and temp bans up to the dreaded PERMABAN.
Do take some time to read all of the information found at spawn. There you can learn about Towny (/warp townyhelp) and how to make money with /sellhand, /ah, and /auc (/warp makemoney). 90+% of all new player questions can be answered just by spending some time at spawn. Please do be sure to read the in-game rules at /warp rules, as well, they’re not completely redundant with this.
Do travel away from others to build. There is a random wilderness teleport at /warp wild. We suggest you use it. We also have a resource world: /warp resource will let you randomly tp to it! Don't build in the resource worlds: they're just for collecting stuff and are reset monthly.
Once you find a nice spot and have /sethome there is one more thing to do. Press F3 and write down the coordinates. Most of the “cool” things you like are controlled by add in programs. Sometimes they do break.
Do vote every 24 hours to get rewards! You can vote while ingame with the /vote command or on the site at http://trekcraft.ca/vote
So these rules should be common sense but:
No X ray or texture packs that do the same thing as X ray, no hacked or modded clients. Mini maps are allowed if they do not show players, mobs, entities or ores. Ask the staff if you are unsure. As mentioned above “ Not knowing is not an excuse”. There is some guidance available in this post: http://trekcraft.ca/forums/m/37099730/viewthread/26371535-builder-modders-guide-to-mods
No “AFK” machines or water works that bypass the auto kick. We have a auto kick for a reason. If you are found in one the staff will remove it and just might disable/remove what you were using the bypass for. You will be /warned and might be banned, especially if it's not your first offense.
Do not spam chat, no swearing or anything that could be hate, racial, sexual, drugs and just no being mean. If it should happen remember the staff can see all. CAPS CAN BE USED BUT NOT LIKE THIS. Posting in chat about it just causes the name of the spammer to scroll off the screen quicker, thus impeding the staffs job. Please do not bring up controversial topics that seem likely to cause arguments. Please do be respectful of others.
No 1x1 towers left behind. If you use one for building please remove it when done.
Do take down the whole tree and replant saplings. It’s not that hard and keeps the server looking nice.
Please respect the staff. They do this for free. The staff is “The Staff” for a reason. They are trusted by the owner. If they ask you to stop doing something or to do something, well stop it or do it. If you do not agree do not argue with them. Post your side of it here on the site and let Mom, Kao or Pearl figure it out.
No we will not make you OP or give you ranks because you tell us your from <bla-bla>. However if you contact us through the site with your official info we may be able to work something out.
This is a fun, friendly server. If you have issues with that then please go elsewhere.
GRIEFING IS NOT ALLOWED IN ANY FORM! (Please read the clarification on griefing, claiming and towns and nation zones in the reply below.)
For those that need it explained..... Griefing is the act of destroying ANY block placed or anything owned by another player without that player's full consent.
Do remember that we are a 24/7/365 days a year up time server, or as close as we can be. Unless you are playing every second we are up there is no way you can tell if something is abandoned or not. Just remember there are people that play on our server when you sleep. To them your house looks vacant and abandoned. If someone took blocks from your home because it’s “abandoned” while you slept you would call it griefing.
In the event that you are griefed or see an issue that needs reporting, tell any staff member. If none are online, make a ticket in game, post it to the forums, give us an @moderator on Discord, or send a /mail to a staff member.
Please do not feed the chat trolls.
These types of “players” want to see you upset and answering them. Your “No caps” or “do not spam chat”.......etc, only feeds them. Like gremlins after midnight, “DO NOT FEED THEM!” Remember you can /ignore (playername)
In the above cases if no staff are on just screen shot it and do an @moderator tag on the Discord or post a report on the forums.
If you ask a question please DO watch chat for an answer. Nothing gets a staff member upset more than answering a person several times.
Always look at what you typed before you hit enter. Is it really want you want to say? Did you hit the caps lock halfway through? Done that myself. There is really no excuse for posting anything that you know is against the rules.
Please go to TrekCraft.ca every few days to read the home page news and forums or keep an eye on our Discord. Lots of great info and some pretty cool people too. They’re also great places to ask questions. Discord will get you faster answers.
